Reflecting on his journey, Cretton shared a personal anecdote about his earliest encounter with Spider-Man. Instead, he spent his childhood outdoors with his siblings, exploring the pineapple fields and mud puddles around his home. His introduction to Spider-Man came through a few comics he saw at a friend’s house, and he recalls a photograph of himself and his older brother wearing Spider-Man and Hulk tank tops, respectively, taken in their backyard in Haiku, Maui.
