Leyva first approached the DDHPO on July 14, 2025, to report receiving threats through social media from fake accounts and individuals. Based on his information, Lara Rodríguez named Governor Salomón Jara Cruz, Secretary of Government Jesús Romero López, and the state government’s legal advisor Geovany Vásquez Sagrero as responsible parties.
