These charges apply per day or fraction thereof. Beyond these daily storage fees, the retrieval process itself incurs additional expenses related to the services of tow trucks. The pricing structure depends on the weight of the vehicle being removed. For vehicles weighing up to 3,500 kilograms, the initial service charge is $798.02, with an additional $28.41 per kilometer of towing and $1,840.78 per hour for salvage maneuvers. Vehicles weighing between 3,501 and 6,000 kilograms have higher base rates, starting at $916.85 for the service call, with incremental increases for each category of weight. Heavier vehicles incur progressively higher fees, with the highest rate applying to vehicles over 12,001 kilograms, which includes a base service charge of $1,337.08, plus $48.83 per additional kilometer and $3,172.21 per hour for salvage operations. Additional charges apply universally across all cases. These include a $909.02 hourly fee for crane deployment, another $909.02 for waiting time, and $76.39 for manual flagging per hour. All prices listed include the Value Added Tax (IVA). If a vehicle has been taken to a corralón, the owner should immediately contact the LOCATEL number (55-5658-1111) to determine the location of the vehicle. Once located, the owner must meet specific criteria set forth in Article 118 bis of the State of Mexico’s Traffic Regulation to retrieve the vehicle. This includes proof of ownership or legal possession, payment of any outstanding fines or applicable fees, presentation of a valid driver’s license in both original and photocopy form, possession of the vehicle keys, and ensuring that the vehicle’s registration plates are current. If the vehicle was impounded due to non-compliant license plates, the owner must update them accordingly.
