Cibona has confirmed its European schedule for the upcoming season, revealing a challenging group stage in the FIBA Champions League. The Croatian champions will face some of Europe’s top teams right from the start, beginning with a home game against Turkish giants Galatasaray on October 6. This marks the club's return to continental competition after deciding to compete in three leagues simultaneously, including the new season of the Adriatic Basketball Association (ABA) league. The draw for the FIBA Champions League took place in Switzerland, where Cibona was placed in Group B alongside Galatasaray, Strasbourg, and Legia Warsaw. The group stage is set to begin with two home matches before transitioning into away games during the Christmas period. The first match against Galatasaray will take place at the Domagoj Vucic Arena in Zagreb, followed by a visit to Legia Warsaw two weeks later. The subsequent stages include new groups of four teams each, leading to quarterfinals, semifinals, and ultimately the final. In addition to the Champions League campaign, Cibona has announced the return of player Lovro Gnjidic, who previously played for the club from 2020 to 2022. Gnjidic has since played for several clubs, including Cedevita Olimpija, Split, MEGA, Spanish Palencia, and Dubrava, where he averaged 13.2 points per game along with 4.2 rebounds and 3.9 assists last season. His return is part of the club’s summer reinforcements, alongside other players such as Roko Badzim and Lovro Mazalin from Zadar. Gnjidic, a versatile forward and former playmaker, is described by the coaching staff as being in the process of maturing and capable of elevating his performance within a collaborative team environment.
