Kozhikode DIET pokreće IntIntelliTrait za mentorstvo školske djece

Kozhikode's District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) has introduced a new initiative called IntelliTrait, designed to guide schoolchildren in aligning their academic paths with their personal strengths and interests. Launched recently at Farook Training College, the program seeks to bridge the gap between students' innate talents and their career choices, helping them avoid misalignment that could hinder their professional futures. The IntelliTrait project is currently being rolled out in 17 higher secondary and high schools within the district. It is part of a broader effort to equip young learners with both academic and entrepreneurial competencies. According to U.K. Abdunnasar, principal of DIET, many students select their fields of study without considering their unique skills or passions, leading to disconnection between their education and future careers. The program aims to address this issue by offering a scientifically grounded approach to evaluating students' cognitive and emotional capabilities. At the heart of IntelliTrait is an AI-driven platform inspired by theories of multiple intelligences, multiple natures, and emotional intelligence. Developed using principles from Howard Gardner, Steven Rudolph, and Daniel Goleman, the system evaluates how students think, learn, solve problems, and manage emotions. This comprehensive assessment is intended to support more personalized and effective educational planning. The implementation of IntelliTrait follows a structured two-phase model. In the initial phase, DIET has partnered with the local TSEEP Academy to train selected teachers as certified master educators. These instructors will then play a key role in educating other teachers across the district. Following this teacher training, the program will introduce online workshops lasting between 90 and 120 minutes, delivered in both Malayalam and English. These interactive sessions will take place directly in schools, leveraging existing computer facilities. Parents and students will also benefit from direct engagement with trained educators and counselors who will offer tailored career guidance. The integration of technology into the curriculum underscores the initiative's commitment to modernizing educational strategies. Additionally, plans are underway to connect the program with higher education institutions and startups, aiming to foster innovation and practical application among students. The official launch of IntelliTrait included presentations and discussions on topics such as "Understanding multiple intelligences and holistic student assessment" and "Experiencing IntelliTrait: live demonstration and hands-on exploration." These sessions highlighted the program's potential to transform traditional learning environments into more dynamic and responsive spaces. As the program progresses, its success will depend on ongoing collaboration between educators, technologists, and community stakeholders. With continued investment and refinement, IntelliTrait could serve as a model for similar initiatives nationwide, promoting a more aligned and fulfilling educational journey for students.
