In the video, she explained why they had delayed sharing the diagnosis for so long. “We wanted to wait until the treatment was finished and we knew what the outcome would be before we spoke about it,” she said. “And before we even found the right words.” Now that Whimsy is in remission, Smith felt ready to share their story.
