Jesu li Facebook i Instagram srušeni?

Facebook and Instagram users worldwide encountered significant disruptions early Sunday morning, with both platforms displaying messages indicating temporary unavailability. The issue reportedly began around 3:25 a.m. ET, according to Downdetector, an outage tracking service. Thousands of users in the United States reported problems, with similar issues noted in Canada, Mexico, India, the United Kingdom, and parts of Europe. The websites and apps for Facebook and Instagram remained inaccessible, though some users found partial functionality on mobile devices rather than desktop browsers. The outage affected multiple aspects of the services. On Facebook, users received messages stating their accounts were temporarily unavailable due to a site issue, with the company expecting resolution within minutes. Some users initially saw an error message claiming they had been temporarily banned, followed by redirection to a generic error page. Others encountered messages indicating they were “temporarily blocked for going too fast and overusing,” despite merely attempting to refresh the page. These inconsistencies suggest possible system glitches or misconfigurations affecting different user interactions. Instagram faced similar challenges, with Downdetector reporting that 44 percent of issues involved the Feed or Timeline, 40 percent pertained to the app itself, and 12 percent concerned posting or publishing content. Users struggled with loading feeds, sending messages, and viewing stories, while others experienced error messages and server connection problems. The situation highlighted broader instability, as even basic functions of the platform became unreliable. WhatsApp, another Meta-owned service, also experienced disruptions, although to a lesser extent than Facebook and Instagram. Downdetector indicated that 44 percent of reported issues related to messaging, 39 percent involved the app, and 8 percent concerned login problems. Despite these challenges, the volume of reports suggested that the impact on WhatsApp was more limited compared to the other platforms. This incident marks yet another service disruption for Meta, which has faced several notable outages in recent years. In October 2021, a global outage lasting nearly six hours disrupted Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger. At the time, the company attributed the issue to a faulty configuration change to its network infrastructure. Similarly, in March 2024, a widespread outage affected Facebook, Instagram, and other services, leaving hundreds of thousands of users unable to access their accounts for over two hours. While Meta described these incidents as resulting from technical issues, specific causes often remained undisclosed. Analysts speculate that the current outage might be connected to a problem arising during a major update to Facebook’s underlying systems. A professional digital designer, Christine Harrison, mentioned that some regions were notified of a planned update earlier that morning, leading to the possibility of a glitch during the process. This could explain the widespread access problems across the platform. However, Meta has not officially confirmed the cause of the current disruption. As of now, the primary issues remain focused on Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, with no significant reports of similar problems affecting Threads or other Meta platforms like Meta Quest. Users continue to monitor the situation, awaiting further updates from the company regarding the root cause and expected resolution timeframe.
