Maintaining the same speed as the truck, the robbers would cut open the seals on the doors while still moving, enter the vehicle, and steal the items they had targeted before quickly disappearing from sight. Truck drivers typically became aware of the thefts only when they arrived at their destinations, often finding missing goods or broken seals.

The stolen items primarily consisted of high-end electrical appliances such as expensive televisions. The suspects were apprehended when they attempted to sell these stolen goods. During raids in the city of Toledo, ten Romanians were detained. One of them reportedly already had an outstanding arrest warrant issued by Romanian authorities, indicating prior involvement in criminal activities.
