Winter holidays in Buenos Aires bring a wide range of free activities for residents and visitors alike, offering more than ten family-friendly options from July 21 to August 1. The city’s government has organized these events to encourage families to explore iconic areas through interactive experiences that combine learning with fun. Activities include becoming firefighters for a day, meeting rescue dogs, navigating the Riachuelo River, and creating flags for public spaces. These initiatives aim to connect families with the city's cultural and historical landmarks while promoting engagement with urban spaces. The programming includes several unique opportunities spread across different neighborhoods. At the Firefighters' stations in Recoleta and Parque Patricios, children can learn about fire safety through hands-on activities such as wearing helmets and participating in interactive circuits. Meanwhile, in Parque Chacabuco, both young and old can witness demonstrations of how rescue dogs and specialized rescue teams operate during emergencies. Another highlight is the guided visit to the City's Flag Room in Chacarita, where families will create patriotic symbols for public spaces. This initiative encourages community involvement and appreciation for local heritage. In Puerto Madero, the Museum of Imagination and Play (MIJU) offers interactive experiences designed for children aged four to twelve, aiming to spark creativity and curiosity. From July 21 to August 1, visitors can enjoy a boat tour along the Riachuelo River, providing a new perspective on the history and landscape of La Boca. The journey begins at Vuelta de Rocha and ends at the Nicolás Avellaneda Bridge, allowing participants to discover the area from a different vantage point. At the Museum of the City in San Telmo, a creative workshop inspired by the exhibition “Marcas de lo Cotidiano” invites attendees to design their own labels using stamps, inks, and other graphic tools. On July 20, which marks Friendship Day, there will be a special edition of Afters BA 24 HS in Villa Devoto, featuring music performances from 5 pm to 10 pm. During this time, the city also resumes its “Invierno en las plazas” cycle, bringing games, shows, and music to locations such as Parque Lezama, Plaza Ciudad de Banff, Plaza Echeverría, Plaza Irlanda, Parque Chacabuco, Plaza Almagro, and Plaza Roque Sáenz Peña. On August 1 and 2, the “Estación Vacaciones” festival takes place at the Railway Park, offering musical performances and recreational activities for all ages.
