A man identified as Amit, 21, from Kot village in Faridabad, has been arrested after attacking and killing a 26-year-old English teacher named Sandhya at a private school in Faridabad. The incident occurred on Monday morning, according to police reports. Sandhya worked at Saraswati Senior Secondary School in Sikrona. According to authorities, Amit approached the school disguised with a scarf covering his face and claimed to be Sandhya’s husband, Vicky, prompting her to walk toward the main gate. Once she reached the classroom entrance, Amit lunged at her, pulled her into the corridor, and proceeded to stab her repeatedly. The assault, captured on CCTV, lasted approximately 13 seconds and resulted in over 20 stab wounds. Sandhya died before reaching the hospital, where she was pronounced dead upon arrival at Al-Falah Medical College. The attack took place during class hours, with students present in the school. Principal Tejpal witnessed the incident and attempted to intervene, but Amit threatened him with the knife. The principal described the scene as chaotic, noting that teachers quickly moved children back into classrooms and parents arrived after word of the tragedy spread. Police cordoned off the area as forensic teams collected evidence. Amit had reportedly arrived on a motorcycle and had previously been known to Sandhya through her teaching work in his village. Authorities stated that he had been stalking her for nearly two years before she allegedly cut off contact and warned him of legal consequences. Police sources indicated that Amit had purchased a knife around two months prior and was suspected of having planned the attack. During interrogations, he admitted knowing Sandhya from the school in his village, where she once taught. After she stopped communicating with him, he allegedly became obsessed and decided to take revenge. A case was filed under Section 103(1) of the BNS Act at Sector 58 police station based on a complaint from Sandhya’s husband, Vikas. Amit was located within two hours by the anti-vehicle theft squad and a team from Sikrona police station. He is expected to appear before a local court for further interrogation. The victims' family includes two children, a five-year-old son and a three-year-old daughter, left behind after Sandhya’s death. The attack has sparked widespread concern in the community, with many expressing shock and outrage over the brutality of the crime. Schools in the region have begun reviewing security measures following the incident. Officials have emphasized the need for increased vigilance and stricter protocols to prevent such occurrences. Meanwhile, forensic examinations of the CCTV footage and other evidence continue as investigators seek to determine the full extent of the motive behind the attack. Authorities have not yet disclosed whether there are additional suspects or accomplices involved. However, they have confirmed that Amit was acting alone and that the attack was premeditated. The case is currently under investigation, with police urging anyone with information to come forward.
