St. Francis Methodist School International celebrated its 65th anniversary in 2025 with a series of events designed to reflect on the school’s rich history while looking toward its future. The commemorative activities included a school anniversary service and carnival, followed by a Thanksgiving Dinner at CHIJMES Hall. These events took place over several months, beginning with the anniversary service and carnival on 22 May 2025 and culminating in the dinner on 3 October 2025. The anniversary service and carnival were held at the school’s campus, specifically at The Sanctuary Hall. The morning commenced with a dedication ceremony that featured a school introduction video, speeches from school leadership, and the official opening of the recently renovated school building. Attendees had the opportunity to participate in a guided tour of the updated facilities. A Tree Planting Ceremony was also conducted during the event, symbolizing the school’s commitment to sustainable development and long-term growth. Following the formal portion of the day, the Anniversary Carnival unfolded, offering a vibrant array of activities. Twenty-two interactive stalls were set up by students, partner organizations, and local community groups. Visitors could collect coupons worth $10, which could be used for either food or games. The event attracted an estimated 600 participants, including members of the school community and external guests. The carnival served as a platform for engagement, showcasing student talent and fostering connections among families and partners. The second major event of the anniversary celebrations was the Thanksgiving Dinner hosted at CHIJMES Hall. This gathering took place on 3 October 2025, starting with a reception and networking hour from 5:30 pm. The event’s theme, “The Starry Journey,” was reflected in the decorations and activities, creating a festive atmosphere. Guests were welcomed with photo opportunities and a celebration highlights video that showcased key moments from the school’s annual events. A highlight of the dinner was the performance of the primary school students, whose production titled Starry Journey demonstrated their creativity and hard work. The evening also featured the presentation of the Awards of Excellence, recognizing students who excelled in school-wide competitions and acknowledging the contributions of parent volunteers through the Parent Volunteer Group (PVG). A special performance by the PVG added to the celebratory tone of the night. In addition to these formalities, the dinner offered entertainment through games, quizzes, and giveaways. Diners enjoyed a four-course fusion meal, blending traditional and contemporary elements, while live performances by high school students and other members of the school community enriched the experience. St. Francis Methodist School International, founded in 1960 with just 27 students, has grown into a respected international school in Singapore. It offers education from primary through pre-tertiary levels, providing internationally recognized qualifications such as the IGCSE, GCE O-Levels, and the IB Programme. The school’s curriculum emphasizes holistic development, combining academic excellence with character education rooted in Christian values. Looking ahead, the school aims to continue its mission of nurturing well-rounded individuals prepared to make meaningful contributions to society. As it moves forward, SFMS International remains committed to integrating values-based learning into its educational framework, ensuring students are equipped to navigate the complexities of the modern world with thoughtfulness and responsibility.
