Après près de quatre ans depuis le déclenchement du scandale Fotopub, Dušan Smodej a finalement comparu devant le tribunal lundi, marquant le début de son procès. La procédure s'est déroulée à huis clos au tribunal de district de Ljubljana en raison de préoccupations concernant la vie privée des victimes. Smodej, accusé d'abus sexuels, d'avoir permis l'utilisation de drogues interdites, d'avoir causé des blessures physiques et de deux chefs de fraude, a participé à distance par liaison vidéo depuis l'étranger.
Cela a marqué un moment important, car l'affaire faisait l'objet d'une enquête depuis août 2022, lorsque des allégations anonymes ont commencé à circuler en ligne au sujet d'inconduites présumées impliquant des mineurs et d'autres formes d'exploitation au club Fotopub, que Smodej gérait autrefois.
L'audience du tribunal a eu lieu en privé après que l'accusation a demandé l'exclusion du public pour protéger la vie personnelle des victimes. Il a informé le tribunal qu'il se trouvait en France, où il avait un contrat signé du 25 mai au 12 juin, et qu'il participerait à l'audience préliminaire de toutes les manières possibles, même par vidéoconférence.
