A special walking tour through Ljubljana will take place this Saturday, marking the sixth edition of the Promenada Okusov, an event dedicated to local wines and summer. The walk will focus on selected white wines from top Slovenian winemakers, with expert chefs preparing seasonal culinary tastings. The event will begin at Šuštarski Most, where participants will receive tasting guides, glasses, and samples. Wine tastings will start at €6, while culinary tours will cost €10. The event will feature contributions from several notable local producers and restaurants. For the first time, the family-owned vineyard Valdhuber Čeh from near the famous Svečine na Štajerskem will participate, offering three interesting white wines, including the award-winning Penina Siva Pinot, Brut, which has received a gold medal at the AWC Vienna. The restaurant and brewery Zlata Ladjica continues its role as a consistent companion to the Promenada Okusov, having previously offered exceptional culinary experiences. Young chef Erik Florjan will present his current masterclass featuring artichoke, chickpea, and a spicy romesco dish, while sommelier Vito Ungar will connect it with the Penina Radgonska Gorica Pet-Nat, known as a counterbalance to rich dishes. This oldest and largest Slovenian white wine cellar will offer two exclusive whites, including the Zlata, which won a gold medal at the recent Decanter competition. For the first time, the distillery Aura will also join the event, located just outside Šuštarski Most. Guests will be invited into its interior, where they can sample its best-selling liqueur Teranino, made from black wine. On the terrace of Aura, the team from Gastrofuzija will prepare three light summer dishes matching three white wines from the largest Styrian winery, Puklavec Family Wines. These include the prestigious Jeruzalem Ormož Sec, which was named champion at the 52nd State Wine Evaluation Vino Slovenija Gornja Radgona 2026, and the Seven Numbers Brut 2019, which recently earned a gold medal at the Decanter competition. Špela Smuk, director of the Culinary Institute and Tourism Center Dobrote Dolenjske, has previously impressed guests with her culinary creations using ingredients from local farms. This year, she will again serve three rich dishes paired with three white wines from the Belokranjska winery Metlika. Meanwhile, the Steakhouse by Naša Hiša will prepare a dessert course, featuring a tender and flavorful flank steak made from Canadian Prime Black Angus beef, renowned for its intense flavor, delicate texture, and excellent juiciness. Attendees will also have the opportunity to taste three exceptional white wines from the Styrian winery Dveri Pax.
