L'exploit de nos médecins de l'Institut "Dedinje": remplacement endoscopique des valves mitrale et aortique en une seule opération

At the Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases 'Dedinje', Serbia, a complex endoscopic replacement of both the mitral and aortic valves was successfully performed on a single patient for the first time in Serbia and the region. The procedure, lasting approximately four hours, was conducted by assistant doctor Bogdan Okiljević, a cardiothoracic surgeon at the institute, using specialized instruments through a small incision of four to five centimeters under camera guidance. This method reduces surgical trauma, accelerates recovery, and provides better aesthetic outcomes compared to traditional surgery. The 66-year-old patient from Brodarjevo is recovering well, already in good condition the day after the operation, and will soon be transferred to the hospital ward for continued postoperative care. The Institute 'Dedinje' has been a pioneer in endoscopic cardiac surgery in Serbia and the region, continuously adopting the latest global methods for treating heart diseases.
