Plzeň postaví nový krytý bazén, dohodla se s univerzitou

The city of Plzeň has reached an agreement with the West Bohemian University to build a new indoor swimming pool and a sports hall near the university campus on Borská Pole. The university initially had concerns that construction and operation might interfere with research in nearby laboratories, but these issues were resolved through a memorandum of understanding. The project includes measures to prevent vibrations and electromagnetic interference during construction, similar to previous successful efforts with a tram line. The sports hall will be built on municipal land, while access roads and parking for the pool will be on university property. Parking spaces will be shared between the university and the pool. The total cost of the project now exceeds half a billion Czech crowns, up from an initial estimate of 380 million. Construction is expected to start around 2028 and take at least two years. The new facility will replace the current aging pool used by the local SK Radbuza club, which will move to the new location.
