The municipality of Ravne na Koroškem concluded its third auction for municipal plots in the area of the emerging settlement Čečovje jug on Wednesday. One plot was sold during the auction, which is part of a total of 30 plots designated for individual house construction. To date, the municipality has sold 15 plots through auctions. While heavy rainfall did not cause damage in the new settlement area, some parts of the municipality reported flooding due to meteorological water flow on Tuesday afternoon. The area of Čečovje jug, currently being communally managed by the municipality, did not suffer any damage according to information from the contractor, stated Vlasta Kupljen, director of the municipal administration, to STA today. “Due to the runoff of water with mud, it is necessary to clean the culverts on the public road leading to Čečovje,” she added. “This was ordered by the municipality late Tuesday afternoon to the road maintenance contractor.” Meanwhile, the new auction for municipal plots in the developing settlement of Čečovje jug took place on Wednesday morning. The municipality sold plot B8, measuring 672 square meters, at the asking price of €19,488 excluding VAT. The plots available for sale in this round ranged in size from approximately 500 to 700 square meters, with an asking price of €29 per square meter excluding VAT. After today’s auction, seven plots remain unsold in municipal ownership and are expected to be put up for sale in future procedures. From the beginning of the plot-selling process in the Čečovje jug area, eight plots have remained in municipal ownership, for which the municipality is preparing plans for the construction of smaller two-bedroom houses intended for rental to young people at favorable terms. The auction process for the plots in the Čečovje jug area began earlier this year as part of the municipality's efforts to develop the new residential zone. The plots vary in size and location within the settlement, offering opportunities for both individual home building and potential rental housing developments. The municipality has been actively managing the area, ensuring infrastructure improvements and addressing environmental concerns such as drainage and erosion caused by recent weather conditions. The emergence of Čečovje jug represents a strategic move by the municipality to expand its residential capacity and provide affordable housing options.
