A man was chased around his home by two women, one of whom was the mother of his child, before being stabbed with a Stanley knife during a violent confrontation in Milford Haven, Wales, according to court records. Warren Harper, 39, suffered serious injuries during the assault, which occurred on July 27, 2024, and led to criminal charges against the two attackers. Harper had been drinking with his former partner, Demi Oliver, 26, and Kelly Rees, 36, at the property located on Precelly Place in Milford Haven. Neighbors reported hearing loud voices and music following the evening of heavy drinking. The three individuals were known to each other and lived in close proximity, according to local media. Oliver and Harper had previously been in a romantic relationship and shared a child. During the altercation, Harper was pursued through the house by both Oliver and Rees. He eventually locked himself in the bathroom, with both women repeatedly knocking on the door. According to prosecution barrister Dean Pullen, Harper attempted to flee the premises but encountered Rees, who was under the influence of crack cocaine, standing in the kitchen with a knife. As he reached for his belongings, Rees inflicted a wound on his wrist using a Stanley knife. Oliver, meanwhile, was also armed with a separate knife and slashed Harper on the arm. Fearing for his safety, Harper retreated upstairs and considered escaping through a window. However, he determined the height was too great and returned downstairs. Despite bleeding heavily, he managed to exit the house and was transported to Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest by ambulance. Medical staff treated his wounds, and he underwent surgery for the injuries sustained. Both Oliver and Rees admitted guilt to charges of unlawful wounding and appeared before Swansea Crown Court for sentencing. Barristers David Singh and Ian Ibrahim presented mitigating factors on behalf of the defendants, but Judge Huw Rees emphasized the severity of the harm caused. The judge noted that the injuries were not minor, describing them as “two significant wounds” to Harper’s left wrist and arm. In response to the case, Judge Rees issued immediate custodial sentences for both offenders. Oliver, residing at Precelly Place, Milford Haven, received a sentence of 17 months in prison. Rees, who is already serving a custodial term for a prior robbery conviction in Milford Haven, was sentenced to an additional 27 months behind bars. The incident highlights the volatile nature of personal relationships and the potential for violence in domestic settings.
