In a statement, Just Stop Oil emphasized the timing of its latest action, noting that the United Nations had warned that global temperatures are projected to increase by at least 2 degrees Celsius within a human lifetime. The group reiterated its call for the UK government to cease approving new fossil fuel projects and to sign a Fossil Fuel Treaty.
