Grossfahndung im Wallis – Einbruch in Sittener Waffengeschäft: Mutmassliche Täter gefasst

Five suspects and two accomplices were arrested after a break-in at a weapons shop in Sitten, Switzerland. The thieves broke into the store, stole unspecified items, and fled in a car registered in France. A large-scale police operation was launched to track them down. The suspects were located shortly after the crime but continued their escape toward Unterwallis, breaking through a police roadblock before abandoning their vehicle in the village of Vérossaz. Two individuals were quickly detained, while three others fled on foot and were later captured along with two additional accomplices. The arrested individuals, all French citizens aged between 16 and 31, were taken into custody for investigation purposes. The operation involved advanced technology such as drones and a Super-Puma helicopter equipped with night vision and thermal imaging systems, as well as police units from various cantons and the Federal Office for Customs and Border Protection.
