Alibaba reportedly bans employees from using Claude Code

Alibaba Group has announced plans to prohibit its employees from using Anthropic's AI-powered coding tool, Claude Code, beginning on July 10, 2026. This decision follows concerns over potential security risks, including allegations of backdoors or vulnerabilities that could compromise data integrity. Anthropic had previously restricted access to its tools for Chinese companies and their foreign subsidiaries, citing efforts to address loopholes allowing unauthorized access. According to a Reddit post, certain versions of Claude Code were designed to detect Chinese users, though Anthropic stated these measures were experimental and aimed at preventing misuse rather than targeting specific regions. Despite these clarifications, Alibaba has deemed Claude Code too risky and is encouraging staff to use its internal alternative, Qoder.

Lecture du biais (Centre): The article presents information from multiple sources without overtly favoring one side. It includes statements from both Alibaba and Anthropic, providing context about the reasons behind the restrictions and addressing claims of security risks. There is no clear ideological framing or biased phras

Pourquoi ces scores (Factualité 85 · Objectivité 80): Factually accurate, aligns with the primary source document. Mentions the ban date, the reason (security risks), and references Anthropic's statements. Objectivity is slightly lower due to emphasis on 'multiple reports' and less detail on the technical aspects of distillation.
