Υπενθυμίζεται ότι στις 13.51 εστάλη μέσω του 112 ενημερωτικό μήνυμα στους κατοίκους του Μπουρνώντα, καλώντας τους να παραμείνουν σε ετοιμότητα και να ακολουθούν τις οδηγίες των αρχών. Στο σημείο έσπευσαν ισχυρές δυνάμεις της Πυροσβεστικής, καθώς και εναέρια μέσα, όπως τέσσερα αεροσκάφη και δύο ελικόπτερα, που πραγματοποιούσαν ρίψεις νερού για τον περιορισμό της φωτιάς. Επιπλέον, συμμετέχουν υδροφόρες και μηχανήματα έργου της Περιφέρειας Στερεάς Ελλάδας.
Στην περιοχή της φωτιάς στη Χαλκίδα, η πυρκαγιά είχε επιρροή σε κατοικημένη περιοχή, και η αντιμετώπισή της απαιτούσε τη συμμετοχή των εναέριων μέσων και των πεζοπόρων δυνάμεων.
