Rituparna Brahma and Mantri Basumatary, both from Langhin in Karbi Anglong district, had arrived in Nepal approximately two weeks prior to seek work at the hydropower project. Shatadal Nath from Doboka in Hojai district, who had relocated to Nepal eight months earlier for similar reasons, is also among the missing. His mother recounted how he last contacted her on Tuesday before communication ceased entirely. She has urged the state government to locate her son and facilitate his return. Other missing individuals include retired professor Dipali Sarkar and her husband, Manash Kumar Ghosh, both from Guwahati in Kamrup (Metropolitan) district. They had planned a pilgrimage to Kailash Mansarovar through a travel agency based in Kolkata. A professor from the pathology department of Nalbari Medical College and Hospital, Tirtha Chaliha, is also listed among the missing, although specific details regarding her visit to Nepal remain unclear. Additional names include Arun Mahanta from Nalbari district, Pankaj Naug from Guwahati, Rahul Daimary from Golaghat, and Soneshwar Narzary from Karbi Anglong. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that the state government is making every effort to ensure the safe return of all Assamese citizens stranded in Nepal due to the floods. Earlier reports indicated six youths from Assam were missing, but subsequent updates suggest the number has risen to ten. The chief minister emphasized the ongoing commitment to locating and repatriating those affected, highlighting the importance of coordination between local authorities and international rescue teams. Efforts to trace missing individuals have included collaboration with Nepalese authorities and the deployment of search and rescue operations.
