In response, firefighting units from several operational areas including Trogir, Split, Kaštela, Solin, and Omiš were mobilized. A total of 147 firefighters were deployed using 38 vehicles, supported by three aerial firefighting aircraft. The rapid spread of the fire was exacerbated by the lack of rainfall in the region, which had left the terrain extremely dry and flammable.

Despite their efforts, the fire burned through approximately 100 hectares of land in just 25 minutes, according to Ivan Kovačević, the commander of the Split-Dalmatian Fire Department. He noted that the fire's intensity was such that even with aerial support, the situation remained precarious. The dryness of the ground and vegetation made it difficult for firefighters to establish effective containment lines, leading them to rely heavily on aerial operations to suppress the flames.

As the night progressed, additional fires broke out on nearby islands, including Šolta, further complicating the response efforts. Firefighters had to divide their resources between multiple locations, each requiring immediate attention. On the mainland, another fire started near Orebić on the peninsula of Pelješac, where local firefighting teams were also called upon to assist. Two aerial firefighting planes were deployed to help manage these incidents, highlighting the scale of the challenge faced by emergency services.

Despite the severity of the situation, there were signs of improvement as the weather conditions began to change slightly. Light rain was anticipated in the coming days, which could potentially aid in reducing the risk of further wildfires. However, without sufficient rainfall, the threat of continued fires loomed large over the affected regions.
