U2 anuncia nueva gira mundial - con fechas irlandesas a seguir

U2 has officially announced its 2027 world tour, titled Carnaval De Luz presents: The Greatest Show On Earth. The tour will begin in Mexico City on 23 February 2027, with additional dates in São Paulo and Buenos Aires later that month. Details regarding Irish performances are yet to be confirmed but are expected to follow soon. The tour supports the band’s upcoming 16th studio album, Carnaval De Luz, which will be released ahead of the tour. The album includes the newly released single The Greatest Show On Earth, co-written with Brian Eno. The track explores themes of love and faith, with the band describing it as “a story of lovers fighting to keep faith in each other, and faith itself.” A music video directed by Anton Corbijn was filmed in the Californian desert. The tour will mark U2’s return to stadium settings after their last such performances during The Joshua Tree Tour in 2019. The band plans to perform in select stadiums globally, with more European and North American dates to be revealed shortly. U2’s most recent Irish concerts took place in Croke Park in 2017 and the 3Arena in 2018. Fans are eagerly awaiting confirmation of future Irish shows. The Carnaval De Luz album features 12 tracks, including collaborations with Rosalía and Dolly Parton. Earlier this year, the band released two EPs, Days of Ash and Easter Lily, to critical acclaim. To celebrate their 50th anniversary, U2 performed at their former school, Mount Temple, and gave a surprise concert on Dublin’s Grafton Street in late September.
