BAOn July 3, 1952, Mirsad Bećirbašić was born in Sarajevo. He was a Bosnian literary figure, member of the Society of Writers and the PEN Center of Bosnia and Herzegovina, known for his poetry, prose, and translations from French. He studied at the University of Sarajevo and later at the Sorbonne in Paris. He co-founded an experimental children's theater called 'Cuca varalica.' His notable works include 'Pojilište jelena,' 'Sakupljač leptirova,' and others. His poems from 'Sunce na rolama' were used as the libretto for a rock opera premiered in 1988. Bećirbašić passed away in Tuzla on February 11, 2024. He is remembered by fellow writer Ibrahim Spahić as a beloved friend and mentor who contributed significantly to literature.
