Descarcelan al fundador de una iglesia clandestina en China

The founder of an unregistered Protestant church in China, Ezra Jin (also known as Mingri Jin), has been released from prison after being detained since October on suspicion of illegally using information networks. Jin established the 'Church of Zion' in Beijing in 2007, which grew to around 1,500 members despite being officially dissolved by Chinese authorities in 2018. The church continued to operate through small gatherings in 40 cities and online services. Jin arrived in Los Angeles after his release, according to the human rights organization ChinaAid. His detention was discussed during a meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping in May. Chinese officials stated that Jin's release followed the conversation between Trump and Xi and occurred around the time of the American Independence Day. Other members of unregistered churches in China have also been arrested. While the Chinese constitution guarantees religious freedom, religious activities are strictly monitored.
