Kaup-Hasler added that while it would be dramaturgically appropriate to reopen Schubert’s death residence on his 200th anniversary of death on November 19, 2028, the timing of such a reopening depends on the city’s financial situation. She remarked that the passion of Viennese residents for the Schubert Death House seems to have grown only after its closure. The Schubert House itself is undergoing extensive renovations aimed at preserving its historical significance ahead of the bicentenary of Schubert’s death in 2028.
