Al Pacino, premio al trabajo de toda la vida del Sindicato de Actores

Actor Al Pacino has been awarded the lifetime achievement award by the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA). The honor recognizes his extensive career spanning over six decades in film, television, and theater. Known for iconic roles such as police officer Frank Serpico in Serpico (1973), mobster Tony Montana in Scarface (1983), and Hollywood agent Marvin Schwarz in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019), Pacino has received numerous accolades including an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role as Colonel Frank Slade in The Devil's Advocate (1992), along with multiple Emmys, Tonys, and Golden Globes. SAG-AFTRA, which represents approximately 160,000 actors, announcers, journalists, dancers, DJs, writers, editors, show hosts, puppeteers, musicians, singers, stunt performers, voice actors, influencers, and other entertainment and media professionals, cited Pacino’s dedication to both his craft and humanitarian efforts. According to Reuters, SAG-AFTRA quoted Sean Astin, president of the union, saying, “Just like many other actors, I have always admired and appreciated the natural power that Al Pacino presents. When you watch him perform, you witness both a student and a master.” Pacino responded to the award, stating, “Most of my life I have questioned and wandered, but I have always felt at home among scripts and fellow actors. The work and colleagues I have collaborated with on this journey belong among the greatest joys of my life. It is an honor that SAG-AFTRA has recognized this path.” The ceremony will take place on February 28, 2027, in Los Angeles, and will be streamed live by Netflix.
