(COPESA), uno de los dos grupos de prensa dominantes de Chile, que ha sido controlado desde finales de la década de 1980 por el empresario Álvaro Saieh y sus asociados; Saieh tenía aproximadamente el 83% y para 2019 compró a los titulares minoritarios restantes, consolidando el control.

Se financia comercialmente a través de la publicidad, las ventas de impresión y las suscripciones digitales, como parte de la cartera impresa y en línea del grupo COPESA.

La línea editorial de La Tercera es ampliamente de centro-derecha / liberal-conservadora.
