The parish of Preobraženja Gospodinova in Piškorevci has been systematically restoring its church for the third year. The restoration includes repairs to the tower, roof, doors, and windows, and this year work has moved inside the church, focusing on the main altar, which was blessed in 1769. This altar is historically and artistically significant due to its rare technique of construction, stucco-marble, and is considered one of the most valuable sacred objects in eastern Slavonia. There are only two such altars remaining in the region, one in Sotin and this one in Piškorevci. The restoration project has received support from the Ministry of Culture and Media, the Đakovačko-osječka nadbiskupija, the city of Đakovo, and local parishioners who regularly contribute financially. The parish is seeking further assistance to preserve the altar and other parts of the church for future generations.
