CroatiaThe 32nd Sarajevo Film Festival has announced that 51 films will compete in the Competitive Programme, with one film being shown out of competition. The festival emphasizes its role in showcasing the future of cinematography in Southeast Europe through a selection of films that demonstrate authorial courage, poetic diversity, and high artistic production levels. Director Jovan Marjanović highlights the festival’s commitment to presenting the best new films and offering insight into the region’s cinematic landscape. The competitive sections include four categories: feature-length narrative, feature-length documentary, short narrative, short documentary, and student short films. A total of 21 films will have world premieres, six international premieres, one European premiere, and 23 regional premieres. The selection team, led by creative director Izete Građević, reviewed 1,215 films, including 210 feature-length narratives, 305 documentaries, and 700 shorts.
