The Chinese automaker Xpeng has introduced the L03 SUV coupe into the European market, starting at €34,990 for the standard-range electric version with a 445-km range. The vehicle features advanced technology, including a low drag coefficient inspired by supercars, and offers both electric and extended-range hybrid variants. The L03 was unveiled in Munich, Germany, where Xpeng has established a research and development center. The company also announced plans for flying cars, with production expected to begin in 2027. The L03 includes design elements such as a panoramic glass roof and a spacious interior layout, offering flexible seating and storage options.

Xpeng has launched its new L03 SUV coupe, targeting the European market with both electric and hybrid variants starting at €34,990. The vehicle, unveiled in Germany during a global event held in Munich, marks another step in the Chinese automaker's expansion into Europe. This follows the introduction of three models already available in Italy through AtFlow, a company established by AutoTorino to distribute selected brands. The L03 is designed to compete in a rapidly evolving automotive landscape, offering advanced technology and performance features tailored for European consumers. The L03 is a sleek SUV coupe inspired by high-performance sports cars, featuring an aerodynamic design with a drag coefficient of less than 0.23. It was created by Spanish designer Juan Manuel Lopez, previously responsible for exterior designs at Ferrari. The car’s design philosophy, “vital flow,” emphasizes fluidity and efficiency, eliminating traditional door profiles to create a seamless silhouette. The vehicle measures 4.65 meters in length and 1.6 meters in height, though it appears lower than its actual dimensions. Its wheelbase of 2.85 meters ensures ample space for passengers and cargo, with seating configurations allowing for flexible storage options ranging from 367 to 1,131 liters. The L03 offers two primary powertrain options: an electric variant with a standard range of 445 kilometers and a long-range version providing up to 520 kilometers of autonomy. A hybrid variant, featuring a 1.5-liter gasoline engine to extend battery life, allows for over 1,000 kilometers of total range. Electric versions boast a rapid charging capability, reaching 80% capacity in just 20 minutes. The electric variant consumes 15.3 kWh per 100 kilometers, while the dual-motor version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, compared to 6.6 seconds for the rear-wheel-drive configuration. In addition to its performance capabilities, the L03 incorporates cutting-edge artificial intelligence technologies. It is equipped with three Turing AI chips, delivering up to 2,250 TOPS of computing power. These systems enable advanced driver-assistance functions, such as detecting emergency vehicles and making autonomous decisions to yield or re-enter traffic. The vehicle also introduces the international version of Xpeng’s Global Intelligent Cockpit Experience, powered by XOS 6 operating system, enhancing user interaction and control. Xpeng has already introduced other models in Europe, including the G6 priced at €43,000 and the G9 at €63,000. The L03 continues this trend, emphasizing safety with a five-star rating and leveraging Xpeng’s proprietary physical AI architecture. The company plans to gradually introduce these technologies across Europe starting next year, further solidifying its presence in the region. Beyond its automotive ambitions, Xpeng is advancing its vision of flying vehicles. The Xpeng Land Aircraft Carrier, a modular aircraft, is nearing production readiness, with 7,000 pre-orders already secured. The project is set to begin manufacturing in 2027, aligning with China’s planned rollout of fully autonomous robotaxis. This multi-pronged strategy underscores Xpeng’s commitment to innovation and leadership in both ground and air mobility solutions.
