A mysterious two-door electric sports car belonging to Xiaomi has been spotted on Chinese highways, sparking widespread excitement among social media users. The vehicle was heavily masked during its appearance, but several design elements clearly link it to the brand. Notably, the rear lights feature a continuous red light ring, a design element seen on Xiaomi's existing electric vehicles. The low-slung, wide body and distinctive tear-shaped roofline suggest a high-performance design reminiscent of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra model. This prototype appears to be inspired by the concept car Vision GT, which exists only in video games.

The sports car features aggressive aerodynamic components specifically designed for race tracks. It includes a massive fixed rear wing shaped like a swallow’s tail positioned precisely over the trunk lid. Additionally, there is a large multi-layered rear diffuser aimed at increasing downforce and stability. Multi-spoke aluminum alloy wheels reveal bright yellow high-performance brake calipers, indicating the vehicle's performance-oriented nature.

This new two-door coupe, likely named Xiaomi GT, would be ideal for Xiaomi's ultimate electric powertrain setup. Xiaomi previously introduced a powerful four-motor system capable of delivering 2,054 horsepower, though this configuration has yet to be used in any of their vehicles. The new model combines two internal V8S electric motors with two next-generation high-power drive units. If rumors are accurate, this new model will surpass the three-motor configuration that powers the SU7 Ultra.

Controlling more than 2,000 horsepower requires highly advanced electronic systems. The sports car uses a fully active intelligent chassis frame operating on a modern digital electrical distribution network of 48 volts. This advanced setup places independent energy sources of 4.6 kilowatts on each wheel, allowing real-time adjustment of the suspension during sharp turns, completely eliminating body roll. Furthermore, the vehicle transfers basic control functions to a software-driven steer-by-wire system, aiding in optimizing tire grip limits under extreme forces in corners.

High rates of electric discharging generate significant heat within battery cells, especially during fast track driving. To combat this issue, the two-door GT utilizes upgraded cooling loops based on components developed for the SU7 Ultra limousine. This helps manage battery temperature and prevents the car from entering a safety "safe mode," enabling drivers to maintain maximum speeds on racing circuits for longer periods without sudden loss of power.

Xiaomi enjoys tremendous commercial success in its home market, meaning this sports car benefits from production lines with substantial capacity. According to recent data from China EV DataTracker, the brand delivered 24,023 sedans and 8,736 SUVs just in May 2026. The new two-door model will occupy a premium position at the absolute top of the brand's product catalog. It will significantly exceed the current flagship four-door model, whose starting price is approximately €66,600.

The new Xiaomi GT is part of a broader plan to establish global technical credibility before entering new international markets. The Electric Vehicle Department plans to launch its commercial expansion abroad during the second half of 2027. The company will focus on developed European markets offering a selection of mid-to-high-class electric vehicles. The brand has already begun preparations for this expansion, including research into consumer preferences and regulatory requirements in target regions.
