Water service interruptions set in NCR, Rizal from Aug. 17 to 21

Water service interruptions are scheduled to affect parts of the National Capital Region (NCR) and Rizal province starting from August 17 and lasting until August 21. The disruptions are attributed to planned maintenance activities by two major water utilities, Maynilad Water Services, Inc., and Manila Water. These operations aim to ensure the continued safety, reliability, and efficiency of their respective water distribution systems. According to Maynilad, the maintenance work will take place in several barangays within Metro Manila and surrounding areas. In Caloocan, residents of Barangay 176 will experience water cuts from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. on August 17 and 18. In Manila, multiple barangays including 395, 528, 530, 531, 536 to 538, 540, and 541 will see interruptions during the night hours of August 18 and 19. Additional service disruptions are planned for Barangays 67, 74, 79 to 83, 85, 93 to 112, 116 to 119, and 122 during the same period. In Quezon City, Barangays Bahay Toro, Talipapa, Tandang Sora, and others will face temporary water shortages over the course of the week. Maynilad urged affected customers to prepare by storing sufficient water before the scheduled interruptions. This precautionary measure is intended to mitigate inconvenience caused by the service disruptions. Meanwhile, Manila Water has also announced its own maintenance schedule, which overlaps with some of Maynilad's planned activities. The utility aims to restore normal water supply more quickly and reduce instances of water loss through these repairs. The areas impacted by Manila Water’s maintenance include parts of Antipolo and Taytay in Rizal. On August 17 and 18, portions of Barangays San Isidro, San Jose, Dolores, Beverly, San Luis, and Inarawan will experience water cuts between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. The following day, similar restrictions will apply to Barangays San Roque and San Jose. In Taguig, Barangay Rizal and Western Bicutan will face interruptions from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. on August 18 and 19. Pasig residents in Barangays Sumilang, Bambang, and Malinao will encounter service issues from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. on August 19 and 20. Further disruptions are expected in Barangies Manggahan and La Paz on August 20 and 21. Additionally, Manila Water’s maintenance efforts extend to Quezon City, where Blue Ridge B and UP Campus B will have limited water access from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. on August 19 and 20. The same area will see further interruptions on August 20 and 21, affecting U.P Village teachers village East, Teachers village West, San Vicente, and the Old Capitol Site. These planned outages highlight the ongoing efforts by local utilities to maintain and improve infrastructure, even amid growing urban demands. Both Maynilad and Manila Water have issued advisories to their customers, emphasizing the necessity of the maintenance work for long-term operational stability. While the timing of these interruptions may cause temporary inconvenience, they are deemed essential for preventing larger-scale service failures in the future. Residents are encouraged to plan accordingly and adhere to the schedules outlined by the utilities. As the maintenance activities proceed, further updates are anticipated from both companies regarding the progress and potential adjustments to the planned service interruptions.
