Volkswagen has begun pre-sales for new hybrid variants of the Golf and T-Roc models, which will feature a 125 kW full-hybrid powertrain available starting in the fourth quarter of 2026. According to official data sheets, the Volkswagen Golf Hybrid achieves a combined fuel consumption of 5.1 to 4.6 liters per 100 kilometers, with CO₂ emissions ranging from 117 to 104 grams per kilometer, placing it in CO₂ classes D to C. For the T-Roc Hybrid, the figures are slightly higher, with a combined consumption of 5.6 to 5.0 liters per 100 kilometers and CO₂ emissions of 127 to 115 grams per kilometer. Compared to a similarly equipped Golf 1.5 eTSI with 110 kilowatts, the new hybrid models promise a reduction in fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions of up to 15 percent overall and as much as 35 percent in city traffic. The Golf Hybrid accelerates from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in 7.5 seconds thanks to its 309 Newton-meter torque. Three driving profiles, Eco, Comfort, and Sport, are available, offering different levels of performance and efficiency. Volkswagen plans to introduce another level of hybrid power within the near future, further expanding its hybrid portfolio. Both the new T-Roc and the upcoming Golf models will offer two full-hybrid variants based on the MQB-evo platform. While the company has not yet confirmed whether the hybrid technology will extend to other models within the group, industry observers suggest that the MQB-evo platform could serve as a foundation for broader adoption of the hybrid drivetrain across the Volkswagen brand.
