In Brno, a fire hit a social facility on Kociánka Street, firefighters evacuated people

A fire broke out at a senior home in Kociánka street in Brno this morning, prompting firefighters to intervene. Before their arrival, 18 people were evacuated from the facility, with additional assistance provided by firefighters to six others. The incident resulted in no injuries, according to firefighter spokesperson Jaroslav Mikoška. High temperatures are expected in southern Moravia, potentially reaching up to 39 degrees Celsius by afternoon. Firefighters declared a second level fire alarm, with ten units, approximately 50 firefighters, responding to the scene. The number of units was later reduced around 9:00 AM as smoke spread into residential areas. The cause of the fire and the extent of damage remain unknown, with an investigator present at the site. The second level fire alarm indicates participation by up to ten firefighting units, with four levels of alarms distinguished, the most severe being the fourth level reserved for exceptional circumstances.
