A new interactive theatrical production titled Universo Matemático will open its doors to the public on Tuesday, August 11, at 8 p.m., at the Teatro Astros. The show blends mathematics with magic, humor, and intellectual challenges, offering audiences a unique experience that combines entertainment with educational elements. The performance centers around the character of Esteban, who faces a problem not related to numbers, measurements, distances, or fractions, but rather, a challenge tied to life itself. Three other characters, Andrés, Consu, and Juli, seek to help him. However, whether they truly do so remains unclear throughout the narrative. The story unfolds through a series of riddles, mathematical curiosities, magical tricks, and absurd situations, all of which involve the audience in an interactive manner via their smartphones. Directed by Alejandro Ulises Gimenez and written by Gimenez alongside Andrea Zablotsky, Universo Matemático features a cast composed of notable figures in science and technology. Andrés Rieznik, a physicist and science communicator, plays one of the roles, while Consu López, an engineer and tech advocate, joins the ensemble. Juli Garbulsky, a data scientist, and Esteban Grinbank, a game designer and comedian, round out the cast. Their combined expertise brings both technical depth and comedic flair to the production. The play’s structure includes moments where the audience is invited to participate directly, using their mobile devices to engage with the storyline. This interactive element adds a layer of unpredictability and fun, making each performance potentially different from the last. Tickets for Universo Matemático are priced at 38,000 pesos. They can be purchased either at the box office located at Avenida Corrientes 746 or through the official ticketing platform.
