A Ukrainian oligarch was injured in a parcel bomb attack in Monaco.
An unusual package bomb attack occurred in Monaco, injuring three people, including Ukrainian oligarch Vadim Ermolaev. The explosion took place in a residential building at 9 PM local time on Monday. The device contained screws and nails, according to authorities. Ermolaev, a multi-millionaire living in Monaco, has been under Ukrainian sanctions related to his business activities on Crimea occupied by Russia. A middle-aged couple sustained life-threatening injuries, while a 13-year-old child suffered minor injuries and is likely related to the couple. Prosecutors stated that the suspect left a bag or package in the building's atrium before fleeing. Surveillance footage showed the suspect heading toward France. The incident shocked Monaco, known as one of the world's safest places, and was described by Prince Albert II as a 'horrible crime.' This appears to be the first such attack in Monaco's history.
