Turkish Airlines (THY), the national flag carrier of Turkey, has signed three significant agreements aimed at improving pilot training and supporting sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) initiatives. The deals include purchasing advanced flight simulators from Havelsan and CAE, as well as joining the Sustainable Aviation Fuel Financing Alliance (SAFFA) Fund to boost SAF production and reduce carbon emissions. These agreements were announced during the Farnborough Airshow. THY's CEO, Murat Şeker, emphasized the importance of these steps in aligning with the airline's long-term growth strategy and sustainability goals. The airline currently has orders for nearly 420 aircraft and aims to expand its fleet to around 800 planes by 2033, with plans to deploy ultra-long-range aircraft for new routes to Australia and South America.
