"TRUMP IS BAD, JEFTINI NAZIONAL": Đorđa Meloni did not react to the insults of the President of the United States, responded the Italian opposition (PHOTO)

Donald Trump continued his attacks on Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni ahead of the NATO summit in Ankara, posting a photo of Meloni during the G7 summit with the caption 'A ban account is needed.' The post came as Trump was set to sit at the same table as Meloni at the summit, following a high-level Italian delegation's visit to the U.S. ambassador's residence in Rome. In response, Carlo Calenda, leader of Italy's opposition Action Party, called Trump 'a low, cheap thug' and expressed full solidarity with Meloni on social media. Meloni did not respond to the latest attack, and the Italian government has chosen not to engage further, aiming to avoid escalation. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani emphasized that Trump's remarks would not affect bilateral relations between Italy and the United States, stating that transatlantic ties are of strategic importance and transcend individual statements.
