Serbia asks for European Union help in fighting fires

Serbia has requested assistance from the European Union in combating wildfires that have been raging across the country for several days, resulting in one death and multiple injuries. Interior Minister Ivica Dacic announced during a press conference that Serbia has asked the EU's Civil Protection Mechanism for additional firefighting aircraft, helicopters, and vehicles. The situation is particularly dire in the Deliblatska Peščara nature reserve, where over 3,500 hectares of forest and vegetation have burned so far. In addition to Serbian helicopters and military personnel, a Russian Ilyushin aircraft has been deployed to assist in extinguishing the fires located approximately 70 kilometers northeast of Belgrade. The efforts are being hindered by strong winds, inaccessible sandy terrain, and underground burning of humus, which often reignites fires at locations where they appear to have been extinguished.

Serbia has asked the European Union for help in putting out large fires raging in the country

Serbia asks for European Union help in fighting fires

Why objectivity (80): The tone is neutral, presenting facts without overt bias. The article avoids taking sides on the involvement of Russian aircraft, though it does not explicitly condemn or praise this action. The focus is on reporting the situation rather than expressing opinion.
