Premestitve in nova imenovanja v novomeški škofiji so se začele veljati 1. avgust 2026, kar predstavlja novo oblikovanje duhovniškega kadra v tej regiji. Spremembe so del redne pastoralne skrbi škofije, ki ima za cilj zagotoviti boljše spremljanje župnijskih občestev ter nadaljnje oznanjevanje evangelija, obhajanje zakramentov in pastoralno delo. Vse spremembe in imenovanja so bile objavljene ob prazniku apostolov Petra in Pavla, kar je tradicionalna praksa v slovenskih škofijah. Škof Andrej Saje je poudaril, da duhovniška služba ni zgolj opravljanje določene naloge, ampak služenje Božjemu ljudstvu v občestvu s škofom in v Kristusovem duhu. Po njegovih besedah so premestitve običajen del življenja Cerkve in izraz skupne pastoralne odgovornosti za župnije. Njihov namen je, da občestva ostajajo žive skupnosti vere, molitve, oznanjevanja in služenja. Duho-vnikom, ki bodo prevzeli nove naloge, je zaželel obilo Božjega blagoslova, župnijska občestva pa povabil, naj svoje dosedanje in nove duhovnike spremljajo z molitvijo, hvaležnostjo in odprtostjo.
Nekateri duhovniki so zaradi starosti, bolezni ali drugih okoliščin zaključili dosedanje odgovornosti, medtem ko drugi so poslani na nova mesta v Gospodovem vinogradu, kjer bodo z oznanjevanjem Božje besede, obhajanjem zakramentov in skrbjo za zaupano jim občestvo nadaljevali Kristusovo poslanstvo med ljudmi. Škof je opozoril, da vsak duhovnik ima pomembno vlogo v sodobnem svetu, kjer mora biti občutljiv, odprt in pripravljen za stik z ljudmi. Vsem sobratom duhovnikom je zaželel obilje Božjega blagoslova, notranjega miru in pastirske gorečnosti, župnijska občestva pa so bili povabljena, naj svoje dosedanje in nove duhovnike sprejmejo z vero, hvaležnostjo in molitvijo, da bodo skupaj gradili Cerkev kot dom občestva, edinosti in upanja.
Med spremembami so bili imenovani naslednji duhovniki:
- **Primož Bertalanič** je postal župnik župnije Žužemberk in soupravitelj župnije Šmihel pri Žužemberku. Pred tem je bil župnik župnije Metlika in soupravitelj župnij Radovica in Suhor.
- **Msgr. France Mohor Dular** je bil razrešen te službe kot duhovni pomočnik v Stolni župniji Novo mesto.
- **Prelat dr. Janez Gril** je postal duhovni pomočnik v Marijinem božjepotnem svetišču na Zaplazu. Pred tem je bil duhovni pomočnik v pastoralnem območju Ambrus-Zagradec-Šmihel pri Žužemberku.
- **Marko Japelj**, župnik župnije Čatež–Zaplaz in rektor božjepotnega svetišča na Zaplazu, je odšel na sobotno leto.
- **Tadej Kersnič**, župnik župnije Stopiče in soupravitelj župnije Podgrad, je postal župnik župnije Semič in soupravitelj župnije Črmošnjice.
- **Janez Meglen**, kaplan v župniji Črnomelj, je postal župnijski upravitelj župnije Metlika in soupravitelj župnij Radovica in Suhor.
- **Alojzij Rajk** je bil razrešen te službe kot duhovni pomočnik v župniji Semič.
- **Stanislav Škufca**, duhovni pomočnik v župnijah Trebnje, Šentlovrenc in v božjepotnem svetišču na Zaplazu, je postal duhovni pomočnik v župnijah Črnomelj, Dragatuš in Adlešiči.
- **Uroš Švarc**, župnik pastoralnega območja Ambrus-Zagradec-Šmihel pri Žužemberku, je postal župnik župnije Stopiče in soupravitelj župnije Podgrad.
- **Franc Vidmar**, župnik župnije Žužemberk, je postal župnik župnije Čatež–Zaplaz in rektor božjepotnega svetišča na Zaplazu.
- **Luka Zidanšek**, župnik župnije Semič in soupravitelj župnije Črmošnjice, je postal župnik pastoralnega območja Ambrus-Zagradec.
- **Mag. Janez Žakelj**, župnik župnije Črnomelj in soupravitelj župnije Dragatuš, je bil imenovan tudi za soupravitelja župnije Adlešiči s 1. 9. 2025.
Spremembe v škofiji so bile objavljene v skladu z določili posameznih dekretov, kar pomeni, da so bile podrobno preverjene in uradno potrjene. Škof Andrej Saje je poudarjal, da so takšne spremembe neizbežne v procesu vzgoje in razvoja Cerkve, kjer je ključna vloga duhovnikov v občinstvu. Na podlagi teh sprememb bo škofija Nadaljevala s partnerstvom z občestvi, da bi zagotovila trajno prispevkom v duhovništvo in izobraževanje. V prihodnosti so pričakovane dodatne spremembe, ki bodo dopolnjevale obstoječo strukturo in povečale učinkovitost pastoralnega dela.
