Sellers of the 1881 Group
Christen Sveaas' investment company Kistefos has sold the 1881-group to Finnish company Fonecta for approximately 38 million euros (around 430 million Norwegian kroner). The sale includes several subsidiaries such as Digitale Medier 1881, Opplysningen 1881, and Hjemmesidehuset, and is expected to be completed by July 7th, pending standard closing conditions. Kistefos acquired 1881 in 2007 and has held it as a significant investment over the past 20 years, with continuous dividend payouts. Fonecta, already a leading player in digital catalog and marketing services in Finland and Sweden, will gain a strong position in the Norwegian market through this acquisition. The combined group is projected to have revenue of around 110 million euros and an adjusted EBITDA of approximately 35.6 million euros for the twelve months ending Q1 2026.
