CroatiaThe renovation work at the Kantrida Swimming Pools in Rijeka has been completed, focusing on the restoration of the lighting structure of the outdoor Olympic pool, the installation of LED lighting, and partial repairs to the pool shell. The project, which took place between April 20 and July 7, included anti-corrosion protection for the steel arch structure of the lighting system, valued at €302,500 including VAT. The total cost of all works at the Kantrida Pools complex was €366,190. This marks the first comprehensive renovation and anti-corrosion treatment of the steel structure since the pool’s construction in 1972. The upgrades aim to improve safety, functionality, and energy efficiency. The LED lighting system reduces electricity consumption and maintenance costs, with an estimated return on investment within three years. Approximately 400 square meters of damaged ceramic tiles were replaced during the partial repair of the pool shell.
