Sandiganbayan suspends Estrada’s 3 co-accused in graft case

The Sandiganbayan Fifth Division has suspended three DPWH engineers—Arturo Gonzales Jr., Denryl Caesar Cortuna, and Manny Bulusan—for 90 days as they are co-accused with Senator Jinggoy Estrada in a graft case involving alleged corruption in government flood control projects. The suspension, issued in a resolution dated June 29, aims to prevent these officials from interfering with the investigation by intimidating witnesses or tampering with evidence. All three pleaded not guilty to the charges of graft and plunder. Earlier, Estrada had also been suspended by the anti-graft court, barring him from participating in the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte. The decision was made under the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.
