The Russians are destroying the Ukrainians' gas stations.
The Ukrainian military has claimed a significant strike by using drones to attack the largest Russian oil refinery in Omsk, Siberia. The attack caused fires and black smoke visible from the area. The Omsk refinery, operated by Gazprom Neft, produces over 22 million tons of fuels annually and supplies around ten percent of Russia’s total fuel consumption. This attack is part of a broader campaign targeting Russian refineries, which have led to fuel shortages at many gas stations across Russia, particularly in occupied Crimea. Analysts suggest this strategy aims to gradually starve Russia of fuel. While some damaged facilities are being repaired, their overall production capacity has significantly decreased. In response, Russia has targeted Ukrainian gas stations along eastern roads, intensifying attacks since early July. These strikes have resulted in casualties, including a 19-year-old employee killed during an attack in Izium.
