He noted that while ADHD allows him to immerse himself fully in certain activities, it can also lead to overwhelming distractions. “With ADHD, you can focus a thousand percent on something, but with everything else, you just can’t,” he explained, adding that his children often attest to this. Williams emphasized that creativity plays a crucial role in managing his thoughts. He described how engaging in visual creation and humor helps him avoid being trapped in his own mind. “I’m completely consumed by creating images and coming up with funny things. When I do that, I don’t think about myself. My brain is incredibly creative, but it can also be creative when it comes to all the things that can cause panic or fear,” he said. As an example, Williams recounted a recent incident on a flight where he began imagining scenarios involving supernatural abilities. He joked that his intrusive thoughts led him to consider what would happen if he had telekinetic powers and could somehow cause a plane crash. “That’s a level of madness I deal with. That’s why it’s best to train the brain to do something useful rather than worry about whether I have superpowers that could bring down a plane,” he laughed. This latest disclosure adds to a growing narrative around Williams’ mental health journey. In November 2025, he mentioned having suspected autism but dismissed the idea due to an online test that did not confirm his suspicions. Now, for the first time, he has officially received a diagnosis. His earlier comments suggested a belief that his symptoms might align with Tourette’s syndrome, though he noted that they do not manifest externally. “I realized I have Tourette’s, but it doesn’t show outwardly. These are the intrusive thoughts that happen,” he said at the time. Throughout his career, Williams has openly discussed his struggles with ADHD, substance use, and periods spent in rehabilitation. Despite his success on stage and in front of large audiences, he has admitted that live performances still deeply unsettle him.
