The serial killer who resisted transfer to Marcos Paz, returned to Devoto and is now isolated in an "old prison" along with narcos and homicides

Guillermo Álvarez, known as 'El Concheto' or 'El Patovica,' was originally among the first group of inmates moved from the old Villa Devoto prison to the new Marcos Paz penitentiary. However, due to security concerns, he was quickly returned to the older Buenos Aires prison. He has since been relocated again, this time to the federal penitentiary complex in Marcos Paz, where other high-profile criminals such as drug lords Miguel Ángel Villalba and Esteban Alvarado are held. Álvarez, who has been incarcerated for over 30 years, was convicted in 1999 for multiple violent crimes including murders and robberies committed between 1996 and 1998. His legal team recently appealed his conviction based on a ruling by the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, but their request for release was denied. The case is now before Argentina’s Supreme Court.
