Case against the accused of murder Danke Ilić sent to the Court of Appeal in Nis

The Higher Court in Negotin has referred the case against Dejan Dragijević and Srđan Janković, accused of the murder of two-year-old Danka Ilić on March 26, 2024, to the Appellate Court in Niš for decision on the appeal filed by the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Zaječar. Previously, the court confirmed the indictment against Dragijević and Janković for the serious crime of murder but rejected the charges and suspended the criminal proceedings against Radoslav Dragijević, Dejan’s father, who was suspected of helping his son hide the girl’s body. The defense of the accused did not file appeals against the decision of the Higher Court in Negotin. The Appellate Court in Niš upheld part of the indictment related to Dragijević and Janković but annulled the part concerning Radoslav Dragijević and returned it to the first-instance court for reconsideration. The indictment, based on additional investigation ordered by the Appellate Court in Niš after returning the decision twice, accuses Dragijević and Janković of committing the crime of serious murder in complicity.
