Prabowo says Indonesia to launch national electric motorcycle

President Prabowo Subianto announced during a speech at the "TNI (Indonesian Military) Harvest Festival in Support of the Food Security Program" held at Abdulrachman Saleh Air Force Base in Malang, East Java, on Friday that Indonesia will soon launch a national electric motorcycle. The announcement was made via a broadcast by the Presidential Secretariat. According to Prabowo, the initiative will take place within the next few weeks. He described the project as part of broader efforts to strengthen the domestic automotive industry and promote the use of environmentally friendly vehicles. The national electric motorcycle is expected to serve a wide range of users, including farmers, who could benefit from its efficiency and affordability as a mode of transportation. Prabowo highlighted the importance of developing locally manufactured vehicles, emphasizing that the government aims to produce both motorcycles and automobiles using the skills and talents of Indonesians. “We will have motorcycles made by Indonesian talents. We will have cars made by Indonesian talents,” he stated, underscoring the nation’s commitment to self-reliance in key industries. This initiative aligns with the government’s long-term vision of transforming Indonesia into a developed and prosperous country through enhanced industrial capabilities.
